Driving in Thailand

First of all you have to know that you drive on the left hand side in Thailand. And if you come from a country with right hand side driving it is a bit tricky in the beginning. Always be aware of the situation around you. When driving in big cities be patient and follow the local rules. Be very careful of motorcycles which drive between lanes / this is legal in Thailand/ and sometimes very fast. When you open a door make sure there’s no motorcycle coming. Use your indicator long before you turn. Don’t make quick manoeuvres. Don’t get angry if you experiеnce some bad drivers.

When you drive on highway obey the rules. Most of the signs are in Thai but important ones are in both Thai and English. If you overtake a motorcyclist horn in advance to aware him.
In general Thai drivers are polite and well-mannered although bus and minibus drivers are most aggressive on the road and sometimes drive very fast – pay attention! Driving at night is not recommended.
