Meditation in Thailand
As a major part of the Buddhism in Thailand, meditation has been practiced for hundreds of years. Meditation means “concentrating the mind on a certain object and avoiding outside disturbances”. With meditating you can achieve happiness, self-freedom, stress release and relaxation from everyday life. If you practise regularly meditation you will develop better understanding of life and ability to reduce ill emotions such as depression, doubt, uncertainty, confusion, anger etc.
Thailand is considered as one of the best places to practise meditation. You can learn the basics of meditation as the classes are available in English. The places where you can meditate are either a Meditation centers or temples /wats/. Most of them are free but certain amount of money is expected as donation.
