Thai Lifestyle

Thailand is fascinating place in each aspect. Despite the cosmopolitan and ultramodern cities like Bangkok or Chiang Mai the major component of Thai lifestyle and culture is a simple village /”moo” in Thai/ with main unit – the family. The village is the most essential part of Thai life – it is the place where more than 80 percent of the Thais originate from. And Thai people pay great respect to their roots.

A Thai village can be very interesting to visit as a beautiful depiction of simplicity and ordinary, with people strongly supporting each other. Rice fields, river passing, fishermen, farmers are in the background of this picturesque image. A typical Thai village consists of about 100 homes and about 500 people with some of their ancestors being centuries ago in the same village. The center of the village is the Buddhist temple /or “Wat”/ which has been built by the villagers.
