Thai Architecture
Thai architecture is unique and can’t be mistaken. It is combination of different styles and cultures like India, Burma, China, Sri Lanka and others. Thai architecture can be divided in two “styles” Traditional and Royal.
Traditional Thai architecture which originates from China, represents a house of wood raised on stilts in order not to be flooded. The roof is very high and has very steep inclination. The prevailing colors of Thai arcitecture are red and yellow as watched from distance. The materials used are dried leaves, bamboo, hardwood, sandstone, bricks.
The Royal architectural style is basically the same but in much greater scales and with unique ornamental decorations very much influenced by China.
