Asala Bucha
Asala Bucha is also major religious holidays and is one of the most sacred happenings in Thailand. It hasn’t got a fixed date and happens around the middle of July. Asala Bucha is the day when Buddha made his first sermon to his 5 disciplines and also marks the beginning the worship of Triple Gems – Buddha, His Teaching and His Disciplines.
People go to temples to pray and to listen to sermons and after that they lit a candle. Asala Bucha is also a family holiday – at home the family cleans the house, hoist a flag and others. The following day is Khao Phansa day /Buddhist Lent/.
