Thailand is located in Southeastern Asia contiguosly on both Indochina Peninsula and Malay Peninsula. Thailand is bordering with Burma /Myanmar/ in Northsouth, Laos in the North, Cambodia in the East and Malaysia in the South, Andaman Sea in the Southwest and Gulf of Thailand /which is part of South China Sea/ in the Southeast. Thailand occupies territory of 514.000 square km /200.000 square miles/. Thailand has a subtropical climate with 3 seasons - hot and dry from February to May; monsoon from June to October; and cool from November to January. Capital city and main centre of political, commercial, industrial and financial activities is Bangkok. Approximately 6.000.000 of Thailand's 65.000.000 population live in Bangkok. Other major cities are Nakhon Ratchasima (second largest city with 2.5 million) and Chiang Mai (third city, population 1.6 million).
